FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL:

Dear Parents,

We would like to take the opportunity to welcome you and your child/children to Speelkring Pre-Primary School.

We are a Christian based, private Community school and are open from Monday to Friday.

We are open over school holidays but closed on Public holidays.

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work with your children! At Speelkring, it is our passion to help children reach their potential through creating a stimulating and nurturing environment.  We hope to help your children develop their skills, emotions and make friends along the way so that they are prepared for primary school. I've worked at Speelkring for 23 years and I've enjoyed all of the opportunities I've had to watch children blossom into their own characters.

FEES:

Fees are payable in advance and must be paid on admission. Thereafter, fees are to be paid on the 1st of every month, including December and January. No monies can be refunded /subtracted should your child be absent for any reason. One months notice is required should you decide to leave the school. Fees need to be paid electronically into our bank account. No cash deposits please

MEALS:

Parents must provide breakfast, snacks and lunch for their children. Please mark all containers.

COLLECTION:

Please inform us should someone else other than the people stated on admission form, be collecting your child. We will not allow any child to leave the premises without prior arrangement. The safety of our children is of top priority. Kindly inform us should you be collecting your child earlier than usual.

MEDICATION:

Please mark all bottles clearly with your child's name and instructions and hand it over to the teacher on duty.

INFECTION CONTROL:

To minimize the risk of infection spreading throughout the school, we ask that sick children be kept at home. We are very strict about this, so please be sensitive to other children & parents.

ATTENDANCE:

Please make sure that your child is at school at 9.00 every morning so that he/she doesn’t miss out. This is also so as not to distract the other children. The majority of the work is done in the mornings.

BIRTHDAYS:

You are welcome to send party snacks to school for your child’s birthday. We will try to make his/her day extra special.

OUTINGS:

We go on outings wherever possible and trust you will allow your child to join in the fun. We will send more information home with your child closer to the events.

MESSAGE/CHAT BOOK:

Please supply an A5 hardcover book and send to school everyday to communicate with us about your child. The staff will also write on a regular basis telling you about your child at school. Account information and newsletters will also be placed in these books.

CLOTHING:

Please keep an extra set of clothes in his/her bag. All clothing is to be marked.

NAPPIES:

If your child is still in nappies, please be aware that ONLY disposable nappies will be allowed. Please make sure you have sent an adequate amount for the day as well as wet wipes.

TRANSPORTATION:

While we do not have a school bus to transport our students to and from school, there is a taxi service available at a cost. Contact the school for more information.

ON ADMISSION:

Please provide the following on your child’s first day: hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, wet wipes, facecloth and liquid sanitizing soap. You will also need to provide a school bag big enough to hold an A4 flip file, clothing, nappies, food, shoes, and notebooks.

We look forward to having you join our family.
